Hi flow cat

Has anybody tried this yet? Or does anybody know how restrictive the stock one is??

It should be a fairly cheap mod anyhow.

thought about it, just want to wait for a decent header to come out first, if you are gonna do it, do it right. Thats my philosophy.

why not just get a race pipe?

HI-flow cats do little improvement compare to stock. That's what I have on my Eclipse.

because getting an off road pipe will trip the "check engine" light because we have sensors before and after the cat. Not trying to do that to my daily driver with 100K mile warranty.

Would we have to wait for specific ones to come out for the RA? Or will the High Flow Cat work from an OZ and fits all models? My buddy and I were actually talking about me getting one last night.

Just called RRM and he said the Cat was connected to our downpipes so they'll not be releasing a hi flow for the RA.

i think you guys are mixing up a straight thru pipe/test pipe/race pipe with a high flow catylitic converter. the test pipe is illegal but i dont the hi flo cat is illegal. the diff in gains between them are minimal. and they are usually universal depending on waht size inlets and outlets you need. look up carsound magnaflow hi flo cats on ebay, i think you can get them for 60 dollars shipped. they are magnaflow cats so you know they are quality. you can get them welded on for a very little money. here is an example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2469272490

if you want a straight thru pipe you can justa get a local shop to make one for you for not too much money, but you will be illegal bc youll be all smoggy and youll be really loud.

straight pipe is illegal. High flow cat is fine, as long as you can still pass an emissions test...if you are ever in need of having one done.

I called Ultimate Racing and they said that a high flow cat would be beneficial as the stock unit is overly restrictive. So...like the newbie above said...who's gonna be the test rat? heh

High flow cats are usually a custom job. You can go to any muffler shop and get one. Carsound (By Magnaflow) is a pretty good one for the dollar.
I can get one installed for 190 tax's in (CDN) Ultimate Racing wanted 250 + tax...lol
