RRM flywheel

I just saw that rrm has a new flywheel out for the ralliart that is 10 lbs lighter than stock. people have told me that this is a good performance upgrade and that it helps put more power to the ground but i'm new to this. what are the physics that help this to happen and will it void my warrenty? Rock? anyone? help

they physics is based on the concept of rotational mass. lower this and your car can rev faster and there will be less loss (no gain, but less loss is the key to this mod).

the warranty would have to directly assess that a lightened flywheel caused the damage...which if it is designed properly will never cause any damage at all...so you should be safe!

last i checked the stock flywheel was 16lbs... i can't be sure but a 6lb flywheel doesn't seem right.

Rob said in a previous post that the RA stock flywheel is rediculously heavy. I think he said it was amongst the heaviest he had ever felt. That would be funny and 6 lbs does sound a little light to me too. Boe are you going to be at road race today. (friday)

I believe I heard that the stock flywheel was around 20-22lbs...which on this kind of car is insane!! So, that would make the RRM around 10lbs.

Flywheels do add power (to the wheels). There is less mass to get moving. A full pully, flywheel, light weight rim combo can yeild an extra 15 whp in 1st gear.

It doesn't add power it only frees power up
