Test drive them both. You should get a pretty clear idea of which you prefer from good test drives. Personally, I think the new Civic Si is overpriced (at least in the US), underpowered, and looks goofy.

I too simply wanted a Ralliart beyond all the obvious reasons as soon as I read about them. I got mine back in March, and I haven't been dissapointed yet I almost never want to stop driving when I get where I'm going. Heck, I even look forward to my commute every day (commuting off rush hour helps too, though)

To me the Ralliart has pretty much the complete package of everything I wanted in my new car. It has all the core stuff I wanted - good looks, a good engine with some actual torque (yes, I'm talking to you Honda and Toyota), and good handling & suspension without being too rough for my daily commute. It also has many things that I've come to love and now think of as requirements in any future cars I buy - great seats (comfortable, good side bolstering, and they look good), a great stock shifter setup, a great stock sound system (with the sun and sound package), and a sunroof (also with the sun and sound package). The only thing it didn't come with that I wish it did was an MP3 deck, like your MSP did. I've since installed one, an Alpine CDA-9835, and it's almost certainly better than any car's stock MP3 deck.

Take the RA for a test drive, but I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's a quick car that's well-equipped, and loves to be modded.

Gotta love the MIVEC! I've driven a friend's and it definately has more pickup/torque than my modified OZ.

you know, not to bash the RSX, because it is a great car, but my friend has one which I ride in all the time, and I really don't think if I had the chance, I would give up my RA for it.

Not really sure how to explain it, but the RA has a warmer feel to it than the Type S. Also, it's suspension isn't as unforgiving, and I think I like the overall interior of the RA better too. The only thing the Type-S has going for it are those seats.....so awesome. Plus you can get a better audio package in the RA.

So...we've seen a Mazda guy come in here and try to push the 3 on newbies, and now we have a Type-S guy. I just wanna know when the random SRT-4 guy will show up....

the chance came up and i took it?

but yeah i drove the RA that my friend owns. you just dont get the same feeling, if you ever drove a type-s you would understand. i looked into the RA when buying my car, and i found the the rsx interior was much better, and the transmission is alot smother then the RA and evo(which i drove the RS). the RA also dosent have leather seats, and isnt really in the same catagory as the rsx. one is a seadan and the other is a sports hatch. but not bashing . just want to learn about the RA to help out a friend that know nothing and is extreamly inpressionable.

also i liked the service i get from acura. the mitsu people are annoying, while at acura we get alot more, but we pay for it. like 24 hour customer care and free towing and loaner cars even though im only in for a oil change

if you want i know a few SRT-4 people....but i hate those cars!!!!

There was that Evo-obsessed guy very recently who, as far as anyone could tell, didn't actually own an Evo In fact I doubt he was even old enough to have a license...

Blaze6257, you're not nearly as bad as that guy was, but let's keep it that way. I think everyone here respects the RSX-S for the good car that it is, but we don't need you reviving old threads and posting all over the place to tell us that

For the record, I too briefly considered getting a RSX-S, but I wanted a sedan and I like the RA more.

It's all good. The Type S can definitely haul in that I-Vtec range, it's pretty exhilaring for such a small motor! I just think the car has a really cold, unforgiving feel....but it's still a great car, no matter what. Plus you are absoutely right....I get pissed every time my buddy tells me about his customer service, all the nice free loaners he gets and the customer service...damn you Acura bastards!!

I don't think anyone will be as bad as "OFFDAHOOK"...what a punk!

The Ralliart has some great incentives going on right now, I'm not sure how things work in Canada though.

An RSX Type S is a nice car, but I think the Lancer RA is every bit as well built and reliable, plus it is more practical with its room and cargo space. Plus a Type S is like 24K and a Ralliart is like 18K. I don't see 6K worth of advantage in the Type S.

i paid 23K OTD, and took the RSX-S mainli because of the aftermarket support...ie TURBO!!! or maybe S/C

GPTourer you kinda have to understand, people who get the RSX know what they are getting if i wanted something theat more "pratical" i would have gotted the TSX(4 door, 6-speed,leather, surround sound audio with those audio DVDs, and navi), but that is also alot more money. people get the RSX because they want someting sporty, there alot of people who later switch to EVOs and STIs, but they do it because they want a change. the RA is good for its price, but for that price i could get a Sentra SE-R V-spec. they proform quite will!

Btw, when you're coming from an 85 HP Saturn (handed down from my parents), you're not too concerned about things like MIVEC vs VTEC, 162 HP vs 200, etc
