Question Shifting problem?

Just wondering if anyone else has had this same problem with their RA. Sometimes when I am shifting from 1st to 2nd i hear and feel a loud "Pop" through my shifter and it almost pops out of gear. I Was wondering if anyone could tell me what this is? Could it be the throw out bearing?
Thanks for the help

I have had it happen a couple of times. I think it is a combination of wimpy clutch and a fast shift, popping out of gear before disengagement.

The symptoms you describe suggest faulty/failing synchronizers. Since the car is new, I'd have the dealer check the tranny.

I have a feeling the 1-2 syncro in these cars are a bit weak. A lot of people includeing myself have had problems with the 1-2 shift on these cars.

I don't think it is the syncro I mean the first signs of a failing syncro are grinding shifts and it's not grinding it just pops out a bit. I think what RAlliartCA said is right. It happens to me once every couple days. I've never had it do it when I was really pushing it in first, only when your just kind of coasting.

Well not always... grinding doesn't usually start until the wear/failure is a bit more advanced, it just makes it so the gear doesn't fully engage and it pops back out from the engines torque. Another possibility is that the shift forks are not perfectly aligned inside the transaxle either, which would exhibit a similiar effect.
