Try to wax it with a cleaner wax. McGuires makes a good one. That should help get rid of the letter ghosts.

And a clay bar might help as well.

Best of luck,

Rob

Same thing happend to me. I just used some turtle wax. Goo Gone and other adhisive removers will also remove the wax off of your paint. Just wax the car and the ghost letters dissapear.

I put a little gasoline on a rag... I know it sounds crazy & is probably not good for your paint, but that did the trick really well & quick...
Due it at your own risk though... I just used a little bit as I figure I spill gas on the car near the tank every now & then & it isn't bad...

I wouldn't recommend this on paint, gasoline is not good for paint or clearcoats at all. Not trying to be a jerk or start flames, but it's just not a good idea.

True, in fact I haven't spilt any gas on my car yet, I always tip the nozzle UP before I move it away from the neck. I'm sure wiping a little gasoline on the marks and then washing the gas off would be ok.

No worries, bro... It's all good... I still think it's not the brightest idea... but I used it (a little on a rag as explained) washed it off & waxed it... I figure the paint's protected to withstand more than a little gasoline... but it was hit or miss... I may have just gotten lucky...

Because Mitsu was going for cheap and used a paint with the clearcoat mixed in. Only had to do one layer instead of two, so half the labor.... because the hourly labor rate of a robotic paint arm matters.

Coincedentally, there's no clear coat on the RA, either.

Ahhhhh, so THAT'S why the paint flakes off Neons SO easily. You do know there was a problem with the 95 Neon paint right? Most of them were "over-baked" so the paint got dry and flaky, thus the large expanses of grey metal showing on many Neons.
Is it possible to put a clear coat on the RA? The paint gets surface scratches in it SO easily. Nothing that can't be buffed out (the scratches are like swirl marks) but a clear coat would help.

True. My brother has a '95 Neon, it started peeling just months after he bought it. He got it repainted under warranty, and it still looks fine (as fine as any Neon, I guess) to this day.
