Road race intake installation

Question Road race intake installation

i bought Road Race CAI for my ralliart and i am having a heck of a time trying to get it installed. i heard it was going to be a tight fit from several people. anybody got pics or tips?

Did you remove your battery and tray? If not, you must do that to get it to fit. Also make sure you removed the airbox mounting plate. After that it's just a matter of removing/cutting the splash guards and sliding it in.

remove the battery and tray??? i didn't have to do that with mine. it shouldn't be that difficult once you remove the proper guards underneath. just don't try to put it on with the filter attached. did they send instructions with it?

mine came with no instrutions either, it took me about a hour to get it on. The hardest part was removing the plastic pieces from the bottom and removing the battery to get to the bolt on the the transmission that the CAI mounts to. It sounds great with it on, I have some pics but you realy cant see anything other than the pipe going under the batery

i called road race and they said that they hired some new guys and one of them must have forgotten to put instrusctions in. i finally got it on but i didnt have to take out the battery. the only theong i need now is a splash guard to keep it from sucking in water. thanx for the help!!!

you can just re use the stock plastic pieces on the bottom, It looks like it seals it up pretty good to me

its my car..., dont need to remove the front bumper though...its just make life easier...
