Dynos up for AEM Intakes

Even though they haven't been released yet, you can go to AEM's site to check out the dynos for the Cold air and Short Ram intakes. As an auto owner, I find the short ram dyno a little disappointing. The cold air dyno is pretty impressive though. Check them out!

can anybody explain the difference in the baseline numbers?

sri = 132.7 hp / 128.1 lb/ft peak
cai = 148.6 hp / 145.8 lb/ft peak

it seems like there is already a 16hp / 17 lb/ft difference even on the baseline..

The short ram is dyon'd on an AT lancer. The CAI is dyno'd on a MT lancer

A 2.6hp difference can be easily attributed to nothing more than environmental weather changes. I doubt seriously that one has any real advantage over the other, so get whichever one you feel is good for the $.

... I will say that AEM makes a nice LOOKING intake, if that's your cup of tea.

So far the only thing about the AEM ones that you know for sure is they will probably offer it in a few different colors.....probably their signature blue, red, chrome and possible a PC black.

We don't know if it will be a one peice or two piece (however, it would make sense that its one piece as they have a seperate SRI).....
I'm not gonna make my mind up till I see picks. After all...I still have my UR Sri for the time being.

INJEN CAI makes 152.8 HP and 148.1 ft/lbs at the Wheels. AEM's intakes suck, they're just pretty.

Why do you say that? According to your specs, the AEM is making about 7 more hp than the Injen. I for one, take all these specs with a grain of salt - the only real way to compare products are on the same vehicle, on the same dyno. I seriously doubt that any of these intakes are significantly better than any other. Maybe one or 2hp difference at best.

AEM's dyno charts always looked suspect to me. I can make those things in MS paint. I dunno, CAI's are basically the same **** across the board.
