car *fixed*

update 11/08/04
ok well i went back to the mechanic shop , to put my exaust back on . so the mechanic lifted my car and i was telling him that mitshi replace my whole downpipe , so i tap the cat and heat shield with my hand and "rattle , rattle" ..... so now i still get the same rattleing i got before.. and its not the axle back exaust , because when i taped the cat and heat shield the car was just lifted , nothing was done to it yet. so then we put the axle back exaust back on , then the mechainc didnt want to raise the exaust to the 2nd hole on the hanger so now my exaust it hanging like a ***** , its seriously like 3inches from the damn bumper ... ahhhhhh so now its 1 week 55$ spent and the same ****ty anoyying sounds and my exaust dosent even fit right . im so mad

ok well last week i was complaining about my car having rattleing from the cat and heatsheild. So i took my car in on tuesday and got it back today from the delearship. So they ended up putting a new downpipe under warrenty 700$ no more rattles!!! yah but.. i also told them about some squeaking problems comming from the pullys in the engine and about a noise comming from the brakes when im turning sharp and what dose the dealership do .. they attacked my rrm cai and blammed it. They stated *Customer states squeaking noise from engine. there response "check and advise found aftermarket cold air tub rubbing agaist battert protector" .... yeah i told them pullys wtf dose that have to do with battery , anyways moving on , then .. *custermer states vehicle scapping noise when turning right or left (when braking no noise) "found after market air tube pushing spash sheild out hitting" bahhhh i had road race install my cai too , what should i do?

1: does the filter actually touch the splash shield?
2: if you've positively identified the squeaking coming from the pulley side, make the service writer come over to your car while it's running and pinpoint that noise. You may need to get a diagnostic analysis from an indepentant mech and shove that in their face, it worked for me with my last car.

Yeah, exactly. Find the exact spot of the squeak, then shove their face into it and yell "FIX IT!!!" If you're confident that it's coming from the pulleys and you can back this up, don't let them tell you otherwise.

bring it back to RRE and let them figure it out, then bring it back to the dealer if they show you it's not their problem

I know exactly what you are talking about- i hear the same noises, but i dont have my cai on yet, so its definitely not that. They replaced my downpipe as well, and now, a few months later, it's starting to rattle again. its Def. not the CAI though.

Grab a wrench and move it to the second hole. 5 minutes and you won't even have to lift the car. Easiest way to do it is slide the hanger off the perch, move it to the second hole, then slide it back on.
