Question Trade-in in general-EVERY1 PLS HELP!

Ok, I bought my ralliart at $20k. I currently have about 8300 miles. I have about 18k left on my payment.

I am thinking of getting a new car (Mitsubishi Outlander XLS) which is about 22k. I want to trade my car in for that Outlander. How much extra am I going to pay? Does that mean the $18k + $22k = $30k ?

I don't know how this whole process works. Please help me out! Thanks.

You'll probably get about $12,000 for trading in your Ralliart, so you'd be looking at $22k+$6K=$28,000.

Making a gross assumption that your car is worth about 15k (but probably less than that as a trade-in) and you owe 18, that leaves you 3k upside down. So it would cost you the 22 for the new car, plus the 3 that you're upside down, meaning you'd be financing 25k.

as far as i know it will be something like this:

lets say the car is now worth 17k.
they pay that off, and you pay the difference plus the new car cost.

so if it were 1k difference and 22k then youd be looking at 23k.

chances are they will do their best to to take care of your 18k.
(aka give you 17k for your trade in and like 1k for customer loyalty) so that you are just paying for the newer car only

I highly doubt you'll get more than $13k for your car unless the dealership is really really really nice. New '04 RAs (not the 05's) are rolling off the lot for $17k. Take into consideration that Mitsu's depreciate horridly.

Search around the forums, others have considered trading in their RAs for Evos, but were getting raped on trade-in values.

There's no such thing as a '03 Ralliart.
