Homemade SRI?
Would it be that tough to make? I was looking at RRM sri, and it is basically just a part of our intake box that holds the air flow sensor. After looking at my intake box, I started thinking, why couldn't I just cut off that tube off the box that holds the sensor, and find a filter that will fit the opening? There looks like their is enough room beyond the sensor to fit a filter neck and clamp. I am sure I can figure out a nice way to attach a fixture in place so that the filter isnt flopping around. Hell, I could probably even put enough thought into it to make a simple heat sheild for it.
Anybody else think of this? Any ideas or thoughts?
It just seems to me that spending between $100-$200 US is alittle steep for what it looks like you are getting.
And yes, obviously, my money tree is wilted and dieing :P .

i made my own on my car before i got my cold air . . just take off the box and find a boot to fit the tube and connect to the filter and you have a damn nice sound with a couple extra ponies . . nothing noticable tho

Blaze from Ottawa (you'll find him on the Canadian forum) built his own SRI and did a nice job of it. It's on a base model, but no big diff. anyway. And I know Jing (or was it Enjoku) from Toronto did a great job with his own two-headed SRI. It's not that hard to build IMO. The only real challenge would be to fit the sensor back on it...
