wheel hop
i get more torque steer than wheelhop when i launch. but yea, i get some. try stiffening the motor mounts, as many have suggested. i think there were some ppl on here who did it alreayd and are gonna take pics to throw a good old newb howto guide
Ok, I haven't done anything to the mounts on this car. However on my old Neon, I went with filled mounts, and it felt like a different car launching hard from a dig... wheelhop was virtually eliminated. I haven't experienced wheel hop probs in the RA yet, but then again I don't launch like a maniac like I used to do in my old car
Try not launching your car so hard when it's raining.
Stopping with your front tires *just* on the far side of the painted stop line helps, too. Those lines are slippery when they're wet. It's illegal to stop after the line, but cops have never messed with me for doing it that way. They *have* stopped me for my tires spinning on that slippery paint, though.
When it's not raining, if you still get wheelspin/hop, you need to learn how to launch your car. It's easy to mash the gas, fast slip the clutch, and get spin/hop. Anyone can do that. It takes a bit of practice to get the right amount of gas, and the right amount of clutch, to launch the car quickly with little or no spin.
Just like turbonutter, I don't launch this car as hard as I did my old one. I used to rev it up to about 3500, dump the clutch, and light up all 4 at a stop. Nothing like sliding sideways about a foot, then hauling ***. I miss that car, even if it was a $1500 POS.

Yep. a '91 GSX. I still have a NT '93 Talon, and I had and sold a '92 Laser 1.8. All manual transmission, just like my RA, and every other car, truck, or motorcycle I've ever owned.
