Question ES vs RA hood: what's so different?

-

Does anyone in here know what the real difference is between the base Lancer's hood and the RA's hood?

In fact, what I'm trying to figure out is why doesn't the RA front tower brace fit under the base model's hood (and any of the aftermarket hoods for the RA/ES). Has has anyone got any info on that? Did anyone actually tried that or know someone who did? I'm also looking for exact figures if possible... any help would be appreciated.

chassis are the exactly the same on ES/OZ/RA. The diff with the RA is that the stock strutbar sticks way up so the hood has to clear it.

Are you serious? I thought I read somewhere that the RA strut bar doesn't fit under the ES hood... maybe it was just because of the 3rd mounting point not being present or something.

Okay then, my mistake! Sorry about that...

No, you are correct, the RA strutbar won't fit under the ES hood because the indention is not there to clear the bar. Sorry I wasn't clear on that... the chassis are the same though.

It might be the cruize control module on the 2.0 liter. The 2.4 has the module on the passenger fender.

So it might not be a clearance problem with the hood at all... ooky dooky... it seems I was chasing the wrong problem then. Thanks guys!
