Not in a Lancer, no way. I wouldn't be surprised if they made it for the Galant, though.

I agree.
Speaking of OHC V6s. I was wondering how many Japanese V6s were pushrod engines? It seems to me almost every single engine from Japan is OHC at least. I know the pushrod V6 is getting more and more rare today, but I was wondering since the 80s, how many Jap V6s were pushrod, about? Did Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsu etc make many/any? Was Mitsu's 2.6L pushrod?

Right on the money: The new V6 MIVEC has been announced for the forthcoming Gallant RalliArt model. Also in planning is the new Colt RalliArt... which could be compared to an old Civic Hatch with a VTEC under the hood and some nice suspension package. Can you say pocket rocket?

I really hope Mitsubishi brings the new Colt to North-America sooner than later. It seems to me they need a small entry level car in the showrooms (and associated high-volume sales). We need more Mitsubishis on the road!

The next Lancer won't get a V6, but ALL trim levels of the next gen Lancer will get the new GEA (Global Engine Alliance) engine which will be all aluminum and will fetaure MIVEC or another form of VVT. The engine size will probably be 1.8l or 2.0l, but I have no idea on specs. My best guess is 130hp base...

Sounds odd, since the DSM days are pretty much over, and Chrysler seems happy to be free of Mitsu.

I hope you are right, because the day this happens is the day I sale my car , I refuse to drive a DOMESTIC or any that look's like, I was talking about the SRT neon not the regular neon, they claim they are using the EVO's turbo and the SRT , so I won't be surprice if the use for the next generation of SRT the EVO or the Ra body .......

Supposedly from the RUMORS I've heard (yes, this means not-official) the next Neons are going to be based on the Lancer chassis. This does not mean that any chrysler parts will creep their way into the next lancer - it's just the opposite.

Your rumor is absolutely right. The Neons are slated to start using the Lancer chassis in 2007.

If they're going to bring out a 2.0L MIVEC engine, does that mean they'll drop the 2.4L version?

I heard this too. Note, the Neon will be Japanese now, the Lancer won't be domestic. Personally, I don't mind that the Neon will be a rebadged Lancer. Better than the Lancer being a rebadged Neon. Notice how that never happens? It's always domestics that are rebadged Jap cars. Ever since the 80s Chevy Nova/Toyota Corolla.
