A car to me is not sporty unless I'm shifting it myself. Auto's just take too much out of the whole driving experience. Automatic transmission are for "commuting" manual transmissions are for "driving." Depends on what your goals are.

I have an automatic. I prefer manual, but the Sportback RA only comes in auto. Perhaps I'll look into a tranny swap someday.

Sportback RA and a wife that hates manual so no option but auto.
My own choice would be manual, much more fun to drive.
