CAI Problems

Hey guys....I was thinking about putting a CAI on my RA. But frankly, I've read in this forum, that some of you who have a CAI installed, have been experiencing problems such as backfires, check engine light activation, rough idle, etc. So how about it? Do the cons outweigh the pros or what? What kind of problems have you had since installing a CAI?

Your RA is naturally asperated right ? if so it would show a bigger perormance then it would in a EVO beacuse the whole hot are into turbo thing. BUt iam running the Injen CAI in my EVO and gained 10-15hp dyno proven from Injen haha, and iam having no problems with it.

I have a CAI and have experienced none of those problems.

I did have a rough idle for the first couple hours on the day I installed it but other than that it's a awesome mod.

No problems here. I think the people who are getting the CELs either didn't install their MAF sensors right, or didn't reset their ECU. Same goes for rough idle, didn't reset their ECU or give it time to "re-learn".

TIP!!!!!! Don't use a phillips head screwdriver to get the MAF screws out, they're in too tight and will strip!!! Vice-grips or channel locks do the job nicely and don't ruin the screws.
