you abuse it, you (should) pay for it

they won't cover wear and tear items

yea... wear and tear items aren't covered. I believe the transmission is covered, but the clutch definitely isn't...

If your tranny goes prematurely, and there isn't evidence of abuse/racing, then that's covered. Clutches, however, are just like brakes/tires/air filters/etc, items that wear and are not covered.

The only way you'd get a replacement clutch under warranty is if one of the following occurred:

1. Recall on the part
2. Failure due to a defective product
3. Failure due to something else under warranty blowing up and damaging it, such as a piece of your tranny shooting through it, or your flywheel disentegrating.

So, they only way you'd get a new clutch is if there was a recall.

I agree with 1, 2, and 3. The last sentence is arguable. If you do the wear, then just know you gotta pay the fare.

It depends entirely on the driver's ability to use clutches. Given a good driver who doesn't abuse it, a clutch will easily last 100,000 miles and beyond. Conversely, I've seen abused clutches go out in 10,000 miles.

lucky04what about a bumper to bumper warranty

Bumper to Bumper as opposed to powertrain warranty. It covers stuff like door handles, switches, radio etc. Everything is covered other than the "wear and tear" items
