How easy is this to do??

I found this pic and was wondering how easy it was to put the factory radio in the cubby hole. i got a dvd player and i was going to put it where the factory radio goes and move the factory one down cause i like how it looks there too. So how easy was it the fit and everything, did you have to modify the cubby hole at all, and if it was done professionaly how much did it cost you.

does the cubby bin thing have metal bracket on them, when you take it out? cause if it does come with meatal brakets all you need to do it unbolt the brakets and put it on the dvd player and for the stock headunit all you need to do is take out the screws on the bracket and move it to the next set of holes to put it in the cubbly hole location.

when i bought my ralliart i got the 6 cd change option and it was in the cubby hole location and was bolted on with brackets. I have my head unit in the cubby hole (looks alot better IMO) and i am deciding to put some gauges where the stock head unit is located

yeah i like the way it looks down in the cubby hole, looks good there. the 04's didn't come with a changer option did they? I will go to mitsu tomorrow to see how much they are, what makes me mad is that the harness i need is out of stock until the end of the month.

fdmh27: i am not the first and you won't be the last to do this mod

but it's not easy.. i went through a few ideas before i settled on mine.. and also my gauges dim with the backlight on the dash.. many people just hook them up to turn on and off, but not dim..

i hear buying mitsu gauges aren't cheap...if you dont mind me asking..how much did you pay for em??...cuz if its too expensive, maybe ill just put the gauges in the cubby hole and leave the radio where it is...cuz the gauges aren't something you constantly need to monitor...let me know your thoughts

where did you put your CD changer if you installed gauges in the top and the HU in the bottom?

hbruce16, i was just saying that the 2004s had a changer as an option, mine didn't have one

fdmh27, i got stewart warner gauges, which is relative cheap but the back light can be color matched (red) to the stock gauges, so I got them. I made the mounting plate myself and moved the gauges up there because i don't need to look at my radio when it's playing, but I want to know if my oil temp is running high
