As most DSM owners already know, Mitsubishi utilizes a section of rubber hose to connect the clutch master cylinder to the release cylinder. While the flexible nature is necessary to allow movement with engine torque (which is why it can't be replaced simply with hard brake line), it also expands under pressure, which causes inconsistent clutch engagement. To combat this issue, we replace the stock rubber hose with a braided stainless steel line that will flex with the engine, but does not expand under pressure.

Just to avoid confusion - if you want to replace the rubber section of hose, buy the SS line that WORKS sells. If you want to get rid of the restrictor which slows the clutch engagement, buy the SS line that RRM sells. Or you could buy both and replace both sections of clutch line.

well ya our kits just use a formed brake line type material to replace the restrictor then a stainless uprade kit to replace the rubber part, but biggest improvment is the 12 foot section that takes out the restrcitor

Thanks

Also, who do you refer to when you say "our" kit? Perhaps a link?

You won't notice the SS line if you look from the top unless somebody points it out to you

and with the restrictor gone, i actually can shift much better and don't burn out the cluch every morning..

Well looks like i'm getting the Clutch line and the short shifter.. i'm at the point where i hate my dealer and would never go back to them again. I'll probably end up going to Boch Mitsu in Norwood.. i heard they're a lot more user friendly to mods and aftermarket cars and warranty issues.
