has anybody installed the shifter by theirselves? if so how in the hell did you get the white plastic piece off of the stock shifter. i dont think i need to go into details, if you have installed one you know the piece i am talkin about.

 

You either cut the stock shifter, or buy a new plastic piece from mitsu, it has been discussed several times already. Use the search, one (or more) of the threads on it has the part # too.

 

I think they run about $20 from the dealership.
