Check out the How-To questions forum. There's a thread in there with a link to how the Eclipse guys worked around this problem. Nobody has tried this in a Lancer yet, but nothing wrong with you being the first to try.

The basic idea is to tie the fog light ground into the parking light ground, so whenever the lights are on, the fogs come on.

I'll probably give it a shot during the spring.

I like to do the same. Just adds some more light to the road. I'm with Otter, I am going to try something in the spring too.

Blah, I can't find the thread, but here's the link (yay bookmark). Whoever found this link originally, I'm sorry I can't give you credit, since I can't find the thread with your name on it.

I don't yet have a copy of the service manual for our cars, so I don't yet know if the wire colors are the same. They probably are, but if you're going to dive into this, I'd first use a meter to make sure you have the right wires.

When I bought my 04 Lancer OZ, I asked if I could add the RalliArt fog lights to my car as a dealer option. First I was told "Yes". Then when my car was delivered, the dealership told me that they could not add the lights for me. Oh boy was I mad. So I took my car and added a set of PIAA Projection Fog lights myself. I wired them so that they would act as if they where factory installed. (Turn off when the High Beams are on, turn on and off automaticly with the Parking Lights/ Head Lights.) There is a small rocker switch I installed up under the dash incase I ever do not want the fog lights on. In my case, the fog lights are not used for just fog, I need the lights to shine on signs that are above the cut off level for the head lights. Anyone else notice that the head lights do not light up signs at night?
Here's a pic of the fog lights installed.

Yes, but there's a definite cut off at the top, where things go from brightly lit to barely visible. It's great when you're on a flat road, most of the light goes where you want it. On a hilly road, there are times I wish the lights were aimed up a bit more or didn't cut off so sharply at the top.
