Dyno'd the RA yesterday
ok i dont get it. on the rrm dyno graph it show they got 164 whp and the stock was 146 whp. and they say they got 30whp gain but if you do the math it is only 18 whp. so i dont get it. am i reading the graph wrong

That was with 87 octane and unknown temp inside their garage, but 19 degrees outside. I wish I had a scanner because I can't figure out how to transfer video from my Digital 8 camcorder. I do think that half tread makes a difference (in a bad way) on your dyno run. I turned 144.67hp and 148.99lbs in 4th. I know the cai and piggyback on your car are making more power than that. I'm not saying you should waste BFG drag radials on a dyno but grip does matter. Have you run any 1/4's yet Blk?
Good #'s that are really better than they are!!

what i did /w my pics was just take a pic /w a digital cam. if u only have a camcorder, u need a firewire cable to get the high8 vids off.

Dyno runs should all be taken in whatever gear gives you a 1:1 (or closest to it) ratio. As for advertised gains with a piggy back? Well the usual formula for manufactuers advertised gains should be used here
- take whatever figure THEY say and divide it by two *L*

Also RRM says 30whp from I/E/ECU.

1st 3.58:1
2nd 1.95:1
3rd 1.38:1
4th 1.03:1
5th 0.82:1
Final drive ratio is 4.04:1

There wasn't much difference between 3rd and 4th gear pulls on mine. 3rd gear:146.04hp/146.59lbs, 4th gear: 144.67hp/148.99lbs. Both with 3200miles and slightly underinflated tires 28-29psi. Virtually no diffence in hp accross the graph but about 5lbs more in 4th untill 4600rpm where they evened up untill 5500 where both(hp&TQ) dropped off by about 10. So much for the 3rd cam profile huh? Who needs a shift light now?
I think it'll be easier to borrow my brother's digital cam this coming weekend and take shots of my now crinked up sheet. On the plus side, at least my nephews got to see a real R34 out at Adrenaline, even if they'll probably blow the cool factor by talking about it nonstop!

sorry if this is a little bit off topic..but im getting my car dynoed too next week (feb 2nd) at ModaCar in Livermore, CA..il post the results when i do it. i wanna see how much power i can get from the downpipe, Injen CAI and the 2.5 inch cat back..by the way..those were pretty impressive numbers black majik..my friends were surprised with the torque!! i will take videos and pictures when the car gets dynoed!

What are you talking about? You have to tell the dyno the gear ratio. It doesn't matter what gear, it calculates it. You just get less drivetrain loss when you use the gear that is closest to 1:1 ratio.

Front wheel drive cars generally only suffer 15% drive train loss because there is no drive shaft to add to the list of rotational inertia. As such, 145 whp on a Ralliart would mean 175-180 horsepower at the crank
Damn I must have a tuesday car! I think the manuals aren't dropping quite 15%. I hope not anyway. It'd be nice to say I have 175@ the crank though... I swear it's bone stock and only 3100 miles and pulled 146 in 3rd. 4th was little lower but TQ was up. I really need to get a scanner...
