no jaws

Actually, I hopped into the passenger side and got out over there, my shoulder was sore for a few days from the seatbelt, other than that just a small bruise under my left ear, have no idea how the car got like that, got blinded with snow from a car that went off ahead of me, so i dont' know what happend between that and when my car stopped, i know i didn't roll, and 3 trees were involved. :-)

Damn guys, breaks my heart to see these cracked up Lancers. I recently had a run in with ice. Bounced off another vehicle. Nearly missed the whole thing needless to say the Evo is at the body shop until a hood, bumper, headlight, wire harness, etc... come in. Sucks driving a rental car.

Thumbs down

hey guys,

I'm going to attach the photo's of the lancer... then later today i'm going to get the estimate. The body shop does amazing work but he priced it to get it back to factory spec. (5k - 5.5k) Later today i'm going to post a list of parts and ones i found and possibly you guys can lead me to aftermarket parts or places to get it cheaper. Thanks in advance guys! Here's the pics.

Can anyone see why that'd be worth $6500 in damage?

I need the following:
  1. Front Bumper -(i'm going accolade) but a new bumper is 464.53
  2. Replacement Lt upper plate
  3. Upper plate grommet
  4. Reinforcement - (losing it for the kit) - 231.75
  5. Grille
  6. Rt lamp bezel
  7. LT lamp bezel
  8. lt lamp bezel screw
  9. Air deflector sedan - 445.18
  10. LT headlamp assembly
  11. rt fog lamp
  12. lt fog lamp
  13. rt & lt mount bracket
  14. Radiiator support
  15. Lt Damper
  16. Fan Assembly
  17. New hood
  18. rt hinge
  19. lt hinge
  20. latch
  21. lt grille
  22. rt fender- 254 (going for extreme kit)
  23. lt fender repair
  24. rt fender liner
  25. repair rt apron and Lt appron assy.
  26. frame setup and measue
  27. pull and straiten frame
  28. align four wheels
  29. corrosion protection
  30. cover car for overspray
  31. hazardous waste removal fee.
I had another page with a few things... including the $6500 total....

Still... thats going extreme... prolly would've been cheaper to total it

But so far i'm going with the Accolade Evo 8 kit and Extreme Fenders... so that should drop around a grand off payments.

to be honest

i want to get it painted the way i want... so he's not painting SH*T... and thats for factory parts... i'm going to cut about a grand off but i'm going to completely pimp it (exhaust/intakes/P&P possibly) get it running nice, finish putting on the kit... then i'm going to get it painted.

I don't want to be a bubble popper, but.... If it isn't paid off, you don't have much choice... The insurance agent give the check to whom it deems "good enough" so if you want to mod the car, you better start puckering up to the guy. Sad but true. If on the other hand you paid cash for the car, well then the insurance gives you the check and you can do what you want with it. You can mod your car, buy a hooker, throw a kegger if you want! Sadly most of us had to finance our cars so we have to do what the bank says (more or less). Hopefully whoever does the bodywork will work with you on parts selection.

Luckily for me my parents are the banks #3 people on their revenue chart... so they know my parents can pay it off... they'll def. trust my parents... if they don't well oh well... but they should...

But my parents and Insurance are with my plus the guy thats doing it is best friends with my dad. So i'm lucking out all over...

WOOHOO! Sounds awesome. Maybe you can even coax them into doing some install pix. Are you going to go with the CF hood and paint over it as well? It must be nice living in the state of brotherly love... Cool insurance people AND the best hoagies! I still can't figure out how there's a Subway in PA... Back to topic. Good luck with the kit and keep up posted w/ pix!
