You cannot use any dyno numbers as fact. Every car is different. Every dyno run is different. There are too many variables on the dyno runs. I'm not saying 12hp isn't possible as I'm sure it is. Not every RA out there will get that figure.

SO.... what is the best Cold Air Intake

choose between RRM (Ver2) [199.00$] and AEM [230.33$]

my vote goes to RRM one (it's not only for the price !)....FranK

thanks...

Anyone know if the aem cai is a 2 piece design? I like the fact that the injen is a 2 piece design so you can switch up to short ram or install a bypass valve. If the the aem is a one piece and the gains aren't much different I might go for the injen.

Like I said earlier, the Tiburon V6 has a CRAP stock intake. The gains are very high because of this. In the case of the Tiburon, the dyno gains are correct on the AEM website. Many, many people have tried these intakes on their car. It has been out for 3.5 years. It is an established fact that 12-15 whp gains on the TIBURON from a Cold Air Intake are normal.

Don't get me started on the Tib, but it isn't tuned for **** from the factory and it is easy to get some mad gains for under a grand. Hell, they even wired the stock subwoofer out of phase and they still do.

I would trust the AEM dyno before I would trust RRM. RRM never even gave a baseline dyno for anything. They offer a strut bar and show a picture of why we should buy theirs. That's not even our strut bar. And since when is pressure applied on top of the strut brace. The pressure comes from the sides. Our stock strut bar has the extension in the middle to catch any downward stress. The fact you can stand on it is impressive, but a moot point. Buy it if you want to support them, but I think the difference in ridgness is negligable.

Don't believe everything you read. Time and research are the only things that can dispell lies. Eventually the truth will come.

Not yet, it should all be the same, although AEM's one piece design may have an edge or disadvantage.

i got the 370 from the first page that everyone was saying the intake cost. carb?? i live in jersey so i don't think that is gonna matter much to me, and if it were i have never gotten pulled over for my exhaust or a cop looking under my hood and as far back as i can remember i none of my friends have eithier, even when we were caught drag racing the cops never looked under the hoods and this is going back over 10yrs ago. as for the dyno i agree with the other guy not all ra are the same nor dyno's the intake is gonna give you hp but your not gonna be able to tell the hp difference between an rrm, aem,or injen even if the aem is 265 the rrm is still cheaper.lol

MitsuRalliart; it doesn't cost much to get these carb certified. something like a turbo kit costs 20x more than a filter and a pipe being carb certified. Other then that. All CAI, if designed right should produce about the same amount of hp. Mivec works wonders and has a lot of potential, so 10whp is really possible. And I thought these were pending carb...

No it doesn't but you also have to factor in the assload of time. They also have to have it on a working vehicle to be tested. If CARB certification was a simple process, everyone would do it.

some people choose not to, it is a simple process that costs an extra amount of money, making the prices for all our intakes jump an $XX amount of dollars, we don't do it, cuz we know our stuff just as good or even better than most stuff out there

yes injen makes one for an auto. and i think i like the injen better. i got the injen CAI and AEM bypass for a total of $280.00 due to the fact i know someone who has a buyer and sellers licence and can get stuff wholesale. you can feel the gains and the whistle noise is pretty cool and that WHFTOOP noise when you just tap on the pedal is awesome! I really only like AEM if i had a honda because it seems like that is all they really like to focus on. But you choose your intake. they are all pretty much the same. oh yeah the injen CAI and AEM bypass is CARB so yeah the cherry tops cant get me for anything
