so you see stuff like ralliart packing the 2.4, whereas in japan, its a different
market for (regular) lancers.

the gen 1 GSR had about 195 horsies while the gen 2 had about 205 horsies.
The US Outlander has the same 2.4 Mivec as the Ralliart but with the 4spd Sportronic auto....so go get a wrecked Outlander and swap the auto trans....I plan to do that as soon as I found one...

Best bet about tip-tronic info would be look at the 3g eclipse. There should be tons of them on the road . . . not suggesting getting their tranny.
I think there is a 5-spd in Japan (only) using the INVEC-3 system, but I think it's a CVT system.

gear ratio on the CVT in another language, but you can clearly tell the ratios.
The 5 spd version was for the FTO.

"Under the wild-looking exterior, the FTO is actually based on the mild-mannered Galant platform, therefore has a transversely mounted motor that drives to the front wheels through either the not-so-common five-speed manual gearbox or the dual-mode INVECS-Il automatic transmission, Mitsubishi's version of Porsche's Tiptronic gearbox. The INVEC S-li gearbox is a computer-controlled four-speed unit on pre-'98 models and a five-speed thereafter that can be used either as a fully automatic self-shifter, or as a sequential semi-auto. A limited-slip differential is standard in post-'97 GP Version R models and was optional on earlier models except for some 'limited build' variants."

Gear ratio for the INVECS-2 5 spd auto.
I just wish they gave out the tranny code. It would cut R&D by 1/3 the effort.
