The squeeking in the rear comes from the lower control arm bushings. It only occurs in weather approximately below 0C or 32F. Mitsu is currently working on a fix as they do not have any replacements that will not squeek. If they relplace the bushings with the ones they have they will squeek the very next morning.

Apparently Mitsu is working on a fix somewhere in Quebec. Once they find a bushing that fits that does not squeek they will be replacing them. (Note: the same issue is occuring with the new Outlanders as they share the same bushings.)

The best thing to do is call your local dealership and find out when they will have a permanent fix.

Have a great day everyone!

Probably not. If they did, it was awful quick. I saw when they had one of the lower arms out, and were taking the bolts out of the other one. About 1/2 an hour later, I was driving home.

Car rides, tracks, and corners fine, but I'll be watching for weird wear patterns on the rear tires. I'll get the alignment checked next time I buy tires, unless I find reason to do so earlier.

I went to my dealer yesterday and he told me that the problem comes from the six bushings at the back of our car... Apparently, water infiltrate the bushings and that's what cause that weird sound. The guy took my phone number and names and order the parts but he told me that they receive them very slowly... BTW he told me that they is no danger... only this annoying squeeks. My temporally solution is to put the beat up!!! lol

Edit: he also told me that all lancers have this problem...

Thanks for the info. My Outlander is driving me nuts with the suspension squeaks. I will go after the dealer and see if they know anything further. My 04 sportback RA had started to do the same thing at about 4500km when I traded on the Outlander.
