Question About My Doors .....

Well ive noticed this for a long time and so have ppl that sat in my car... maybe its the extremely cold weather but i was wondering if anyone has the same problem...

when i open the doors it seems as if they weren't closed properly, (somewhat loose? easy to open?)

but im sure they were closed ... this seems to be the case for all four doors ... its kinda wierd since ive never had this thing happen

just wondering if anyone has the same thing happening and if it could be fixed... ill just feel more safe if i open the doors and it actually seems like it was shut TIGHTLY...

thanks =)

This is strange do they shake at all or is it just that the handle feels odd when you open the door?

Yes, I feel that also. But the REAL problem is when I want to close the trunk, is hard!! I usually get it done at like the 3rd try I hate it!

I would take it in if you don't feel safe with the way it's closing. All you need is your door to fling open on the highway

Weather stripping contracts and hardens in the winter, so it won't seal like it does during the summer.

I don't know if it's the same thing but, last big snow storm we had my door handle froze open. I slammed the door twice before getting out and looking at the door handle. It wasn't sticking ALL the way out but I guess it doesn't take much to keep it from latching. I just make sure that the handle is all the way "in" after opening the door now. If you think the door lock mechanism is freezing up you can spray it with good old WD40. Lubricates and works as a decent antifreeze. Hope this helps. I know I tweaked pretty hard when my door came open halfway accross the parking lot after work! Especially since I had only had the car a few weeks at that point! Not fun at all then, but hillarious now.

When it's really cold and wet (after snow storm, for example), my door handles have done the same thing, minor annoyance at most. I think between that and bushing squeaking, I should take mine in for service (i'm due for my free 7500 mile cabin air filter, anyways.)

have you checked all the bolts on the door hinge?

if they feel like it's not closed properly, your lock hinge on the door maybe bent a bit.
