Exclamation Tips on painting eyelids...?

Ok, I did a search, and couldn't seem to find my direct answer. First off, I wanna thank mitsubishimanny for giving me his accolade eyelids (he now has RRM CF eyelids) and for the sweet ride in his turbo ralliart @ the sclc met . Next, a few pointers, im going to paint them myself, using flat black and clear coat (as told from lookslikeanevo). My question is, how many times should I paint the eyelids flatblack? and how many coats of clear coat? Also, do I need a special type of tape to stick the eyelids on?

If all goes well, ill have pics up by this evening

im not sure of the painting b/c accolade did mine. as far as them sticking on, go to a home depot , by the painting section, and youll see 3M adhesive sticky tabs. its not tape but kind of like these stick on strips. i bought 2 packages and they were like $6 all together. their specially made for the weather so it will stick through the rain and car wash... hope that helped!

i say put 2 coats of each on and as for the tape get the 3m tape. you can buy from a hardware store or target walmart ect. after you have them on dont take them off or u will need new tape. =\ i did that to adjust one and it flew off when i was ****in with a srt-4 =\ had to go in the road to get it back

Flat flat clear clear. Get your base paint on before you clearcoat.

Sand it smooth first, otherwise any defects from your mistake will just come through the new coat. Wetsand with 400 then 600 grit should work, will get it nice and smooth before you put another layer of paint on.
