That thing has been beaten to death on here, and is honestly the worst possible source you could use to compare the SpecV to the RA. Yes, we are jealous of the SpecV's LSD, but a lot of the other points in that article are pure crap. Reading that article just makes me think that they need to send their test driver to driving school.

then i guess you know that we have suckie *** tires; goodyear RSA! first time they took the ralliart to the track they got 14.9 with different tires, mitsubishi changed tires to save money. this is why the ralliarts are getting mid 15's at the track. even some magazines said this too!

It's a driver's race. Im a nissan guy, more than a mitsu, I know alot about the specV, but please don't bring that "non-sense" here about the ill-fated specV, tit for tat the specV has alot of ghost in it's closet

i mean my gawd! this is a mag time! shouldnt you have oodles and oodles of people knocking that time out of the water? my point exactly..there isnt.so what does that imply? the time is fake maybe? more than likely.

also looking into your time slips bin..most of the times there are in the 15.4-5 range? good gosh half a second slower than some "so called noob" mag time? hmmm makes you wonder.

 

i've driven both on more than one occasion, and i did like the ralliart more (seats felt more comfortable, i liked the shifting better, styling, etc.). from a power and handling standpoint, they are very close in power though the RA did feel like it had more grunt in the low end than the spec V. the V though had much tighter and stiffer suspension and obviously better tires. another bonus is the RA runs on regular gas (have you all seen gas prices recently? ouch...).

as far as the SCC article goes, i read them more for the entertainment value (which is how they sell more magazines). the ralliart just hasn't gotten much love from anyone, but those that have one know what they're all about, and i'd rather keep it that way than have every loud mouth FNF racer getting one.

all in all, you can't go wrong with either car really.

 

I have that issue, and that issue re-affirm me more to get the RA. Yes, the specV is .2 - .3 faster and has better handling, but if we're gonna mag race, here are a few quotes:

We put more WHP down.
We have better suspension
We have better brakes
More practicle, better looking, redifined

So SCC likes the specV, and MT likes the RA... works for me.
I really wanted the specV, I really wanted to like it more AFTER I drove the RA. I just kept thinking, but than im like dam, it's just like my sentra SE, same boaring looks, style, nothing changes... just dropped a more emission friendly motor and gave it some pepp.

 

incorrect..you dont have better brakes...the test they used didnt have abs for some reason...the abs version recently tested would have spanked the RA numbers...secondly...whats use with a good suspension if it doesnt flow well with the chassis and you cant use it? you put down more whp? maybe stock..definitely not modded...but we put out more WTQ...and whats the point..you guys have almost 200lbs on the fattest specv...and lastly..looks are objective...granted i like the looks of the RA...but more practical? i guess...if you haul little ones in the back i suppose...

why are you here exactly? seriously, i just want to know. if you're just repping the V, this is really not the board to do it. if you're looking to upgrade to an evo, then by all means see what you can learn here. i have to warn you though, trolls (if that's what you are) don't make it long here before the mods just ban their account. just wanted to give you the heads up before you get sucked into a flame fest (some members are WAY too teritorial on their ride, you'd think you'd just called their mother a fat slutty crack monkey...).

, sorry bro... no "if's, or "but's"... about it. Same like our tires, same as your brake/suspension. In the test, they said we have better braking and better suspension, deal with it... there was no ABS... to bad, lacking suspesion... to bad . In the other test, you have better o-6o and 1/4th, because you have better tires, we have to deal with it because our stockies are crap, stop making execuse. Seems, like your a late bloomer, we are 103lbs more, yet with a 6speed, LSD and better tires is only .3 faster than us, which can be made up by a driver,

 

Right on, both have their ups and downs, I love my RA's, isn't that all that matters, to each their own.

 

ok how about this my 2001 chevy blazer is better than a spec v and my ra why cause it can hold all my fishing equipment and tow my f----in boat now who wants to flame me now come on put em up I dont understand why this guy felt he needed to educate the unwashed masses here on the merits of the spec-v I myself liked the 02 model but the new body style just dosent do it for me so cant we all just get along
