Stock exhaust hangers

Hey all. Just wanted to pass it on to keep an eye on your stock exhaust hangers. May or may not have to do with having an axleback (probably does, aftermarket axleback seems a bit heavier.) Had my car jacked up today to take off my snow tires/wheels, and noticed that my rear-most exhaust hanger was almost completely torn in half. Probably another week or two and it would've broken completely. Luckily I had a set of Kartboy exhaust hangers that I had, until that point, been too lazy to install. Dunno whether this is just an isolated case or not, but next time you're underneath your car, take a peek.

Plus, my exhaust doesn't bounce off the sway bar perches anymore, yay!

One last thing, if you're putting steelies onto your RA for the winter, put anti-seize around the hub! My wheels had rusted to the hub It took a lot of swearing and beating it with a BFM (BFH would've damaged the wheel) to get the front wheels off. This has never happened to me before with other cars that I ran winter steelies on.

I tried the kartboy exhaust hangers today they went on fine but my rrm axleback (tip) is stuck right up against the bumper had to put the stock hangers back in , I tried pretty much everything. If I knew the axleback was going to cause this nasty clanging every turn every movement I wouldn't have bought it.

I found that when I switched to the kartboy hangers, I had to use the other hole (upper one) on the axleback mount. Then it's at the same spot in the bumper as it would be with a stock hanger on the lower hole. Does that make any sense?

Mine did the same thing when I replaced all my hangers with the Kartboy ones... All I had to do was bend one of the hangers down a little. Just grab the biggest hammer you can find and give it a few good wacks! Or, if you can find a long steel rod to get some leverage on it, that will work too.

I've still got stock exhaust hangars, but when I do the CEL fix for downpipe in a couple days I will check it out & see if this is or isn't an isolated case w/ Otter... But I'm afraid it might not be... I'll see...

Exactly. I would've cracked you for making a new thread.

Off the top of my head, I want to say 5 hangers total. 2 for the downpipe (aftermarket not really needed here) and 3 back by the muffler. Kartboy's site should have a package deal for the Lancer hangers. 3 of the hangers are identical (look kinda like an 8) and two of them are weird, with the holes at 90* from each other.
