SES came on, wth...?

SES came on, wth...?

I have intake and exhaust and that's it. It came on this afternoon, and now im wondering why. I know im late on my oil change, about 400miles over... is that the reason why? Im getting my oil changed first thing in the morning, please somebody with answers, ive had a bad day and ontop of this, im really worried...

I dont think going over by 400 miles would cause that to come on

mike ,maybe its your o2 senser or gas cap thats going out.

yea, ur ses light can go on if your gas cap isnt on all the way

those cause the CEl light to come on, not SES.

We must if his came on I dont know off the top of my head though, never had it come on so I dont pay any attention. All I know is that the CEL light will come on if you have a bad 02 sensor or your gas cap isn't on tight enough, not the SES!

If all the reading i'm doing/learning, i might be new, but if i'm right..
We don't have a CEL, we have a SES light, which is the same thing, maybe i'm wrong :P

LOL I just realized I was calling the SES light a CEL, so used to the other ride, sorry. Yeah it can be anything from your gas cap not being tight enough to our ****ty 02 sensors.

SES = service engine soon
CEL = check engine light

SES = CEL

It's all the same thing.

dam, bad news... it came on again (about 20mins ago). I immediatly checked the gas cap and it was screwed on "click" tight, I unscrewed it and re-screwed, and no luck... I wonder now what could be the problem. I got my oil change and tires balanced/rotated this morning...
