Go to 10 mph. Put it in 5th. Floor the engine and stop at peak torque (4000 rpms). That would yield the best results IMHO. High revs kill during break-in. The point of the exercise is to put the most amount of pressure on the rings. Only the first ring gets stressed. I really don't see a point.

One point I neglected to mention about the Honda race engines. I used a second compression ring that was completely worn out to the point that it was hardly touching the cylinder. The oil ring must be new and the top ring new. The second ring had to be installed for legality. This arrangement made better hp due to the reduced friction on the second ring and the better sealing on the first ring. I do not advocate this approach for the second ring on a street engine.
