Good bye Ralliart....

Guys,
It's been a hell of a ride. But unfortunately (and fortunately) I have traded in my ralliart and purchased an EVO. It's been fun, and i will miss that little street fighter, but lemme clear a few things up about the ralliart for noobs, and everybody else (some are really opnionated, lets not turn this into a flame thread, this is just my farewell letter):
-It is underrated (those factory numbers are off)
-It has tons of potential
-It is an extremely fun car
-It is better looking than the 02-03 (stock for stock)
-The headlights and grille grow on you
-It CAN beat the pants off of any spec V, I don't care what anyone says, I've never lost to a spec with the ralliart.

With that said, I will miss our little rants on spec V owners, and arguments about the front end looks. It's been fun, but now I must walk down the EVO path.
To RRM and RIPP, keep up the awesome work, the ralliart is one of a kind and deserves the support.

now that you got rid of the ralliart and no more arguments about its front end looks, now get ready to fight over the evo 8's "pontiac nose"

At least in the U.S. you have the option to move to an EVO...not so north of the border

Yeah, I feel for ya man. Don't worry though, RRM has a great turbo kit, and RIPP is almost done with the SDS, so you'll be in good shape.

I think they only get the STi because the IC is mounted on top of the motor. Since the evo has the IC in the front it doesn't pass some sort of bumper test. That makes repairing an evo smacked in the front very expensive.

Hey man i could not agree with you anymore. 2 weeks ago i also traded my ralliart for an evo and that ralliart was waay more powerfull than any numbers said. I was beatin most cars with that little ballzie ride. Im going to miss her but it had to be done for an evo. but still, i stuck by that ralliart no matter what anybody said about it...even tho after i smoked them in it they didnt have much to say. So good luck with you evo man im havin blast with mine but still the memorys of tha ralliart will always be in my mind lol!

That's sweet. But how's Mitsu's policy for trading in a Jepp Cherokee for the EVO?

Yes for $50,000 CAD + taxes etc which seems like a lot more than what it costs in the US. Besides if you want an EVO, the STi is not the same thing. And yes the FMIC on the EVO is the reason it is not available in Canada. Im guessing if they want to bring the EVO to Canada they are going to have to add some serious bracing to make it pass the front bumper test. For what its worth my Mitsu dealer says that there is a good chance that there will be EVOs in Canada around 2007. Maybe we will even have GT-Rs by 2050.
