Gallant Ralliart eh?
Eventually our cars will be the "old guard" of the MIVECs. We'll be sitting around saying, "Yep! I had one of the first in North America! You kids and your 3.0 liter MIVECs don't know what a REAL engine is!"
We could take that road. OR, we could look at this as the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
The next Eclipse is already shaping up to be a killer. I don't know anything about the suspension, etc. But the poweplant is nice.
Future will be interesting.

I read about the Galant Ralliart in motor trend a few months back. I read it is supposed to be pretty quick, Motortrend said it could keep up with a 350Z in thier figure 8 test. Looks like in a few years after my wife and I have another kid mitsu has answered the question on what I will get, if they build it.

I saw that Gallant concept at the Montreal auto show. It's a concept car, so it's not gonna look exactly like that once on the market. But Mitsubishi looked interested enough in the concept to showcase it... and I think they might offer the package later this year.
Ask Rob (aka Rock) from RRM, he surely knows a bit more than me on that subject... since RRM worked closely with Mitsubishi to create that project car. I didn't hear of RalliArt ever being involved though... so I can't quite understand where the name comes from. Shouldn't it be the Galant RRM?

Well, since Mitsubishi are betting their North-American future on these new products, I think they'll once again impress us in quality vs. pricing. I'm quite sure you'll be able to buy a nicely equipped Eclipse for much less than what a comparable 350Z will sell for. Maybe it's just wishful thinking though... but everybody is still quite impressed with the value vs. price paid for my RA, so I think I have good reasons to be optimistic about that.
That being said, on a very personnal note, I still think the (new) Eclispe is a very ugly car (replacing a somewhat better looking one)... and I hope for Mitsubishi's sake that much everybody else feels quite the opposite!

I like the 2nd gen body style. Don't like the current one. Future one looks good IMO... just a little bit too much like every other car in its class to have any presence.
I still like the sedan body style for Mitsus. Just wondering how far this will all go. In the 70s they cranked the HP all the way in the domestic market, then the 80s and 90s saw the fuel efficient cars take over. With oil prices what they are, and the concurrent rising gasonline prices, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Nissan bringing over the GT-R says "bring it on", but with oil prices going up we could see a return to fuel efficiency.

I like the car and I like that Ralli//Art is looking at the other cars in the lineup. It's turning into a regular SVT or SS kinda thing. I would like to see them do more for us in the aftermarket. I like to keep the stock look and that would help.
Mitsu & RRM are working on the Ralliart Galant & Endeavor's together!!! I've seen these cars on the Mitsu website somewhere... At work can't search for the link... but yeah, this has been discussed before I believe...
I'm pretty sure they're using RRM intake & suspension parts on these Ralliarts...
