i like both looks actually and i think the wheels look awsome, but as for the "RICER" coments i think there are a few people on this board who need to look up the definition and use that term correctly. just becuase some one does somthing DIFFERNT does NOT mean its "RICE". actually, and if i affend some one SORRY, but those who say it looks rice reminds me off the high school kids i have to got to school with and a VOTEC im currently going to. they say my car is "RICE" becuase its a mitsu and maybe becuase i dont like domestics lol. heck i hope some one says somthing about my mods when i post them up here and calls them rice becuase there iether jelous, or just dont like it. they arnt driving it so like you said be CONSTRUTIVE not DESTRUCTIVE with your comments. sorry for be so long winded i hate when some one on here say THIS IS SOOOO RICE and THAT IS SOOOO RICE when they dont evan know the deffinition of the word.

^^^ i hear yah man.. that rice word is starting to get old..its nto even funny.. i felt kinda bad.. but its all G..its just other peep opinions.. ill still do wut i want to..im gona be driving it..so if its "rice" im gona deal with it.. so yeah.. goodluck moding all your cars..i hope noone accusses ayll being ricey..lol its not a nice thing to hear..trust me..lol

"Rice" as I understand it is used to make a car look better/faster/more aggressive than it actually is. Making an ES look like an Evo is rice. Kanji is rice. Racing stripes is rice. Neon washer nozzles is rice. Indiglo gauges that make your face glow blue is ricey. Etc etc etc.
As for the making it look different argument, different is not always better. It's like everyone around here who drives a Civic. They all wanna be "different," so they all have a watermelon shooter exhaust, altezzas, a huge spoiler, slammed and with huge rims.
Like girls with lower back tattoos. I'm no longer surprised when a girl has one, but rather when she doesn't.

I mean, I think almost everybody here wants to make their cars some what faster than how they came stock correct? and I know a lot of guys definately wanna change the looks of their cars, hence all the requests for body kits, lip kits, spoilers, hoods and what not right? So were basically all rice then right?

I'm planning to purchase the body kit from RRM when its released, and yes, ppl do say that body kits are rice, so **** it then, I guess I'm rice. I'd rather spend my money on what I want my car to have, than someone telling me, "oh don't get that, that's rice."

He said LOOK faster not BE faster. This dude has already basically said that he wants cf but it's too expensive right now, so instead he's going to paint the hood. A CF hood serves a performance purpose, not just to make the car look good. He's just painting the hood.
Can anyone on here honestly say that if they saw his car with a black hood the first thing they thought wouldn't be that he has a cf hood??? Lets be honest here folks, and that means you too xtian. You are going for a cf look. I don't know or care what rice means, but if what the one guy posted is the deffiniton of rice than xtian fits the bill. (oversized wheels for show cuz they do nothing but make you lose power, and a black hood that looks like it's cf)
Me personally, even if I was to buy a cf hood I'd probably paint it to match my car. For me though I'd have to see it installed first, because my car is TG and it might blend in well. Yours is silver and stands out like a sore thumb. You say you want to do something different? Ummm, look around and check out all the sports compact cars with a black hood. You're not being different.
As far as the rims go, more power to ya. I'm not one for the chrome look (and yes they look chrome in the picture, not trying to upset you). I like to be more subdued. But that is me, you do your thing.

and seriously, have you seen an ES stock? then you can obviously tell why most of us want to change the look, cause its fugly.

Yes, it is all a matter of personal preference. He asked for opinions of painting his hood black. So now he is getting opinions from people.
To me I think it looks tacky. It reminds me of when I crashed my Dad's car and he got a hood from the junk yard. He nor myself had the money to get ie painted, plus it was his beater. So we drove around with a black hood on a tan car. That was 10 years ago. I guess now that crappy a$$ beater would be the shizznit. lol
Like I stated before, if I was to get a cf hood I would probably paint it. Only way I wouldn't would be if it blended in with my car color since my car is close to the color of cf.

i want both! its not like im doin the other one to make the other look like the other! i wouldnt mind a cf hood.. but see.. i always wanted a black(greyish) hood.. geezz..its just paint!! lol..ok.. it was kinda a surprise! but.. just to stop this rice thing!!!!!!!! ahhh...i cant belive im saying this... hehe.. ok!! here yah go!! i wana do my hood black COZ... someday... im goin to go for a color scheme! im plannin to paint my roof black too... and teh rest of the TOP part of the car..a nd leave the lovwer part silver!!! im just taking advantage of the fact that the shop is gona paint the hood for me! (for now) till i afford a paint job! im goin for a 2 tone looks someday! and i guess its an oppurtunity to start!! if u dont like my plans then fine!! i dont care anymore! u can say its ugly as F*ck.!! but why do u have to use rice?? i just wish!! yall do ur cars perfectly..and all ur future plans are not ricey!! coz if u do a lil rice!! and someone says it is.. and u dont think it is..ur gona be in the same situation like me... im tryin to do something difrent..HERE!! in the lancer comunity! not in the overall! to copy other imports! so yeah..its cool.. wut ever u guys say!! for the last time.. im not doin my hood black to make it look CF!!! lol plszzzzz!! hehhe.. im plannin a paint job someday!! hehe

I got that definition from a muscle car site...I think loud annoying hondas that don't go anywhere are rice...The ones with a D series motor and a straight pipe that could drown a semi out..THAT is rice
