Hi there, i really need some suggestions and help on this

Sup guys, I am buying a brand new 05 ralliart hopefully in two months. However, i am really confusing on the price. Some guys tell me that i should ask for invoice price, someone said the actual price should be lower than the invoice.
???? So when i buy this car, what kinda price i should be looking for?
I see there are some guys owning 05RA on this forum, so please give me some suggestions.
Also, I live in CA, i plan to buy this car and drive it to Alabama after a week so. Is it kinda bad for the new car?

Thanks in advance

Best bet is hunt for a new 04 ralliart, theres a lot of them. And you arent going to hurt the car driving it that far either.

There's already a thread or two about purchase price in this forum. Please use the search function.

Are you moving to Alabama? If so, I'd hold off on the purchase until you move. Then you could buy a 49-state emissions car, instead of Cali emissions. If you're just going on vacation or whatever, then nevermind.

Shouldn't hurt it to make the trip after a week, as long as you've got a few hundred miles on it in that week, and CHANGE THE OIL BEFORE YOU GO.

You should seek invoice price *before* they add in the factory incentives (student discounts, loyalty, cash discount, etc.) That way you'll end up paying below invoice for the car, and right around invoice OTD.

There's 3 versions of the Ralliart (according to CAPS) - Canadian, Federal emission compliant, and California emission compliant. The Federal one is the 49-state emissions car. The California emissions compliant car is going to have a few small differences that may cause it to have a bit less power in order to meet CARB requirements.

Driving it to Alabama wouldn't be all that bad, and you'll probably be able to sufficiently break the car in during that trip. A rule of thumb when initially driving this car is NOT to redline it (but that's all cars) when you first get it.

CA is harder on emissions (smog) than all the other states in the US.

California has more restrictive emmissions standards, to keep pollution levels down. This generally will mean that if you purchase a vehicle in california, and purchase an identical vehicle out of california, that the non-californian vehicle will perform slightly better, due to lack of additional emmisions control eqiupment.

I bought an '04 for $14,900 OTD so if you can shop around and really make sure no dealers have an '04 it would probably be worth it. If you do end up finding one, make sure to go straight to the fleet manager and ask about any deals going on and make sure he knows you're no idiot. We actually found the car because it was the last day of a huge sale and we just went to check it out. Turns out we got $2500 off because of the deal, $1000 off because we already owned a Mitsu, and we talked him and his manager down and worked him against a different dealer. Let us know if you can find any '04's or deals or anything and good luck.

The thing is, i wil probably have a $5000 down then do the payments. So, i am not sure if i can still get the cash discount or something

oh well, i guess i will aim for 17k final price before any rebate or coupons

Go for $0 down then use the $5k for a turbo. You know you want to.

I don't know how much it takes for the cash discount. I did my financing outside the dealership, so to them, I was paying 100% cash, which gave me a $1k discount.
