Exclamation You can't always predict how you'd react...

I think each situation asks for its own specific reponse. I once had someone (a woman as it happens) suddenly cut across two lanes of the service road to get to the highway on-ramp without first looking to see if somebody was coming on the other lanes!!! I was doing 50Mph at that moment and had to completely lock the wheels to avoid her! Only when she heard the brakes screeching did she finally react and turn the other way to avoid being hit! I don't think I could have avoided the impact...

I am normally a cool customer... but that day, I was so mad that someone could be such an idiot that I just plain ran her off the road and on the grass, got out, screamed out every obscenities I had ever heard in my life, then proceeded to explain to her that besides her and me, my two kids could have been with with me and could have sustained injuries or been killed, as well as other people or their kids, all because she was driving like a complete idiot! It's a chance that nobody else was on that normally quite busy strech of road at that time... since I had to swerve quite a bit myself.

To this day, I still feel I reacted strongly but I don't regret what I did... 'cause I know she remembers that moment everytime she goes to change lanes. Now, I didn't hit her nor her car. I really think that screaming insanities at someone who did such a stupid thing is warranted... both to get that person to think a bit more about others when driving and because you then got the rage out of your system and can go back on the road being much more relaxed.

That's just my opinion of course... but no one here can make me change it.

ive got a really good one. OLD PEOPLE! now theres people that should be kicked off the road. my accident story.. in my eclipse. goin down nova, thro Daytona beach.. 3 lanes plus a merge lane.. i am in the middle lane.. these old people turn right into the merge lane and start to come over.. one lane away. then i notice theyre not stopping.. and so i honked, and got over.. you think thats it.. They keep coming!! so i lay on my horn and move over as far as i can. they totally were oblivious to me. they actually HIT me. tore my fender all up and put me up on the median. AND THEY KEPT DRIVING ALONG!!! came across 4 LANES and hit me up on the median and KEPT DRIVING! now that is a retarded driver for ya!!

on the other hand, i made a mistake at a light once.. the lady started to go and decided not to.. and i looked saw her go.. and turned around to check if the coast was clear.. then i started to go and boom! she was still there. messed up my hood on my first lancer pretty bad. stupid suv's.

I did the same exact thing with the Integra! I was lucky though... we both got only scratches (on the bumpers), so we decided not to report anything to our respective insurers. Up here, they raise your premium even if you're not responsible, so people often reach an agreement between themselves when at all possible. It sucks to pay for insurance that you don't use though... but hey, I almost totalled my Golf (all by myself, tight turn, rainy day) when I was younger and I can tell you it was good to be insured on that day!

my first accident ( not my fault ) i was mad, but it was all the adreline... ( SP? ), i was going 30 when she came into my lane ( head on ) and i hit her... the second accident ( not my fault ) i was in a parking lot, jeep in front of me starts backing up, i can't go anywhere my friend is behind me, she slowly rolls back and then slams the gas as if it were the break and she just saw me... Right on the car she goes... i look at my buddy in my car and say "did that just happen?" hes like "yeah." I laugh and say, "she didn't stop...", i wasn't mad b/c her insurance was gunna cover it any how....
