Need Help Oz Vs Ralliart
Yes i know this question has been asked but. i was really thinking about swtiching to a Ralliart, which would mean i have a OZ, i want to kno from you ralliart owners that is it worth switching? Will a ralliart be fast with a turbo in it or would a oz in a turbo in it be fast? i would love to kno my fiance doesn't want me to give up my oz cuz she likes it so much, but i want to stay with DSM so please help !!!!!!!!

the ralliart is almost exactly the same car as the OZ. of course the obvious engine and suspension upgrades make the ralliart lancer, a ralliart lancer. go take your fiance to the dealer, go test drive one, see what she says
any car with a turbo is fast.. it just depends how much you're willing to spend. fastest RA ever recorded is Turbo_Tech_P.R.'s 508 WHP lancer ralliart in puerto rico. i dont know if theres an oz that goes higher than 508? but, the RA does have the better engine stock.
the 2004 oz's are the same as the RA lights.

how do you figure a turbo O-Z will be just as fast as a turbo RA??? I say go for the RA... I test drove both and wouldnt even get back in the OZ after driving the RA....but go drive one and decide for yourself....
No offense OZ guys... but an OZ is basically an ES with a spoiler and different badging. Ralliart is a whole different car IMO. Bigger, MIVEC engine makes a world of difference. Handling, suspension, shifting, everything.
However... you can an OZ fast as hell if you want. Throw a SC on there or a turbo and you're good to go.

im not saying that the cars are the same but with the right amount of money you can make any horsepower theres 2.0L tib's with 700 hp in japan and money is the thing you can make anything go fast with it. what you would pay in the trade in could be invested in the motor.

Differences.
Engine, wheels, tires, brakes, suspension, strut bar up front, bigger front sway bar, better seats. That's all I can think of, but trust me, those are major, major differences. Pretty much everything that drives, stops, steers and controls the handling has been upgraded with the RA. If you had neither and were looking for one or the other, i'de say the extra stuff you get with the RA is well worth it. But if you are going turbo, might be best to stick with the OZ. Especially since there is more aftermarket for it too.

its all about $$.... but im sure putting turbo in a RA will be faster than the same turbo in an OZ... and i agree with ErikT, Oz is just an ES with a spoiler, sideskirts, leather stitched steering wheel and knob, alloy rims, smoked headlights, and choice of the COLOR YELLOW.... not much difference on performance. (i heard that OZ is higher than ES as in overall height... correct me if im wrong)
So go with the RA if u have the $$

well thanks to everyone i will go test drive one. but wat about a swap with the motors? i talk to the master tech at my local dealer and he said it fit and would help me do the work!! would that me better bang for my buck?
^^^ yes it will fit, nobody (on evoM.net) has done a 4g69 swap into there oz. IMO... buy a ralliart, it's worth the purchase, atleast when i test drove it and signed the line I thought it was, I never looked back. I just like my o2 es styling a bit better.
A swap would be spendy. You might as well trade up to a RA and get a warranty with it. Test drive one and see what you think. Power-wise, an OZ can't touch an RA. Ralliart will always be faster, mod for mod.
Trading up is definitely a better bang for your buck, and you'll think so after test driving one.

see the thing is once u trade in ur oz for ra they prolly make u pay a extra 5 g's
and with that 5g's u can get urself turbo and save the money u woulda spend on the RA and still have ur oz faster then RA that u were going to buy in first place
