This AEM Intake Seems Too Cheap

If you go to the site and put in the info for a 2004 Lancer then click on cold air intake and AEM you will see a AEM CAI for the Ralliart listed at $187.15. That is way cheaper than I've seen anywhere else which immediately throws up some red flags IMO. Do you guys think this is a legitimate price? It is originating from a Nissan parts site, but it also specifically states its for the Ralliart M/T.

it looks real to me, maybe you should check other sites out to see if they match. I personally wouldn't buy it from this site because I want a red one, not chrome. Red matches my car. $187 is pretty cheap, but I saw other places aren't that much more money. How much do they sell it at AEM.com?

Totally correct. The wording is kinda misleading...

"Cold Air Intake, Short Ram Series, Powder Coated Polished, Comes With Filter, Installation Instructions, Decal & License Plate Frame"

It's an intake, but not a cold air model. Short Ram Series is what should tip you off. I'd advise you save the money and wait for an actual CAI model...short rams are great for sound, and good if you like to stay in the high top end, but at that price it's not a real good deal.

ok, I take my comment back. aempower.com sells it for $369 but I think it's worth it, shows dyno results, 12.6hp gain. You can check it out right here http://www.aempower.com/product_intake_app.asp There's this tuner car shop place near me called Street Scene, and they claimed they have it for $260, and I might get it soon, but I better watch out and make sure I get the right one.

I was under the assumption it was a CAI they were advertising, that's the only reason I posted it here for you guys. I want a SRI anyway, but at that price it's no different than other AEM SRI's I've seen.

I live up the road from Summit Racing so if I can't find any outstanding deals here soon I'm just gonna run over there and get it from them.

The cold air kit for the ralliart is not availible yet. I have had one on backorder threw my work for 1/2 a year now. All i get out of AEM is "a couple more weeks" and it's been 6 months. The SRI is out and shipping.

Hey Bigdoggy_dog,

I purchased this intake about a month ago and it is a short ram intake, which is what I was looking for also. This has been the best mod so far for my car! I had purchased the cold air intake from RRM and was dissappointed with it, anyway I returned it. Did some more research and decided to go with AEM, the fit and finnish are superb. I ordered mine from Invision Performance out of Hacienda Heights, California I paid $168.00 shipped "great deal"
Felt instant performance gain throughout the whole rpm range, combined with rrm's axleback.[QUOTE]

Here is the Link to Invision Performance;

I purchase mine through Invision on ebay motors, no problems at all!
