Talking Back from an AutoX

I just got back from a AutoX type event (they called it a Gymkana down here) at a local Kart track (Sabana Seca PR Kartway 1.103km long). It is the second time I go there. The first time I drove there (about 1 1/2 month ago) my Sportback was all stock and the best time I got was 1.08.98. Last thursday I installed the RRM Progress Sway Bar / Perches and the RRM Tie Bar and I got 1.05.96 today at the track.

The best time in my categorie (F) was 1.01.099...all of the other cars were modded and with better tires that me (I still have the stock Potenzas..lol). Also all of them were manual tranny.

Anyway It was a lot of fun...the mods that I made to the Ralliart really made a difference at the track...the Sportback now feels more rigid and it corners a lot better. I highly recommend those mods to all of you guys!

Nice pics!

I'm curious, what cars are in your class, and what car got the 1.01.099?

Be thankful that you have the Potenzas... some of us are stuck with the crappy Eagles.

Ha! The Potenzas are hardly any better. For a performance tire they just don't have much grip when it's dry out, yet without any apparent benefit when it's wet. They're slippery in the rain and downright scary in the snow.

Cool

They use the NASA TT 2005 rules for the categories:

www.nasaproracing.com/rules/Time-Trial-Rules.pdf

Some of the cars in this categorie are: Integra GS-R*, RSX*, BMW 318i, Audi A4 1.8T(150hp), Audi A4 1.8T (170hp)*, A4 2.8*, Mini Cooper, Cavalier Z24, Cobalt 2.2, Dodge Neon DOHC, Mustang I4T/I6/V6, Focus ZX3/ZX5 (2.3L), Honda Accord V6, Civic DOCH-VTEC*, Civic SOCH-VTEC, CRX, Sentra SE-R, Matrix/Vibe (180hp), Scion tC, Impreza 2.5 RS*, Celica GT, Hyundai Tiburon, Solara V6, Eclipse (4cyl), Nissan 240z, RX7 13B, Mercedes C230*....just to name a few of them.

* denotes a 5 point handicap (for upclassing points..if you mod the car you get more points...for every 15 points you go up one class!!!)

I don't remember all the cars in my class....some 2.5RS Subbies, a Sentra SE-R, some Civics, a CRX, a Miata, one Focus....I will post the time/car list later.

That is really cool. That is what I want to get into with my car. I just have no clue where to go or who to talk to. That would be a hell of a lot more fun than drag.

Nice pictures man, i want to try autox sometime in my car.

I'm glad you got the filter in one piece.. i wasn't sure as to how well USPS would treat it.. i've seen some pretty bashed up boxes (which is the reason for double boxing it) come into the bike shop i work for from them. Well keep in touch, and enjoy the filter

Great to see the RA on the track! It looks like a lot of fun! I think this is the best way to enjoy the RA... I don't feel it's a car meant for the drag strip at all. It handles too well for that...

note: I went karting last weekend... and found my car handled like a big lump of Jello afterwards though! But it all came back to normal after about half an hour...
