the eclipse has long been the pinnacle of the mitsu line in america... look at the 1st/2nd gens ... even the RS have popular aftermarket support...
When they went v6 a decent bit of the crowd went away from the 4 cyl. even with this 3.8l there is still going to be quite a few people dropping a few pennies into their engine ..
The Lancer Ralliart is no evo... it wasn't meant to compete, most companies are like.. if you can afford a $30k+ car and your an enthusiast... theres cha ching...
The lancer ralliart was supposed to be a fun economical "Sporty" Sedan, not sports sedan... we're just making it better than mitsu on our own.
The Eclipse IS MARKETED as a sporty 2 door coupe... regardless the 4G69 engine in the eclipse will be getting more support faster than the RA just because it is marketed to be driven fast and "Furious"..
plus think of this
DUAL MARKETING!
now they can make stuff for the eclipse AND RA and it'll cut down on R&D as opposed if we had 2 diff. engines.
So my vote goes for
MOST DEFINITELY!

I don't think so...
companies will be looking to make parts for the GT. 4g GS owner will be looking to us for parts on there 4g69, that's where RRM comes in to play.
The GS is heavy, looks to run low - mid 16's. The GT runs lows 14's, all 3500lbs of it... DAM!

just look they have the commercial's out for the eclipse, i have yet to see a damn one for the ra and it's been out for what a year and a half??? but if they make engine things for the eclipse that will also go for our ra , thats fine with me, i guess

Remember that the RA is a trim level of the Lancer. We've seen the RA on TV in a Lancer commercial showing a 30ish couple stumbling by accident on a street racing venue... to ask were the onramp is.

Yep... I know, pathetic attempt at best...
When people who have never heard of this car before end up driving it (like my brother in law, who's French), they are in awe at the speed and agility of that little car. Why can't Mitsubishi let people know about it?!?

Hey guys, come support www.generationmivec.com. Its a newly born forum dedicated to the mivec engine. one of its main goals out there is to get aftermarket support for your engines.

And yeah, I hated the commercial with the 30s couple driving by a street race, that was just stupid. I saw an RSX commercial with a early-mid 20s guy tearing up a closed track, amplified the engine revving. THAT is the kind of commercial the RA needs. And if you look, most of the people buying RAs are 16-25 year old guys, so why try to market the car to anyone else?

Plus, the RA has stuff just as good as most coupes. 4 wheel discs, low/stiff suspension, tons of standard equipment, sunroof, nice wheels, sporty exhaust etc. It may have been marketed as a fun to drive "econobox", but that was a mistake on Mitsu's part, the RA performs better than to be called an economy car, plus it gets pretty bad mileage, who would call it an economy car?
