SRIs - Pics of RRM vs AEM vs Injen

I've only seen pics of the AEM. Are there any pics of the Injen or of the RRM ones? If so, could you post them?

Also, what's the best (aka cheapest) place to order the AEM one from?

Oops, sorry about that. I just noticed that the thread says "SRI" at the front.

The Injen CAI is more or less the short ram if you remove the 2nd piece. Sorry, I don't have pics of that though. I may convert it over in the winter time though depending on how much it's going to rain or snow.

The AEM one seems to put the filter furtherest away from the engine when compared to the Injen and RRM versions.

Just for your info....the Ultimate racing SRI is the same design as the AEM.....So, I wonder if AEM saw the UR one a while back....the UR one has been out since last May!! Hehe....Works amazing though....I can't see the RRM one working that great....its right next to the engine!

Will those couple of inches from the engine make a difference? If not i'd just go with the cheapest SRI.

Well, it will make a difference. It gets the filter about 7 inches closer to fresher cooler air from the wheel well.

Any amount of inches further away from the engine is a good thing IMO. The best choice would be a proven design that is also the further possible from the engine and with a good heat shield to boot.

The most intelligent install I've seen so far uses the original air ram to get fresh air from the front of the car through the heat shield and onto the filter. It should get you very close to the gains you can expect from the CAI... but for less money and with less of a throttle delay (the longuer the tube, the more time it takes for the engine to suck the air up the tube).

To illustrate the heat shield - stock ram configuration, here's what wiretap on here did for his SRI setup:

Here is my "did it myself" SRI. Nice feel, nice sound. Used an intake from another RA to house the MAF and used the other stock bits. I couldnt see spending 160 plus shipping.

selling it if anyone is interested.

Yup... it would really be the ideal scenario if money was of no concern. I really like that ram they molded into the hood...

actually you dont have to do the full hood, look in their (rrm) US Lancer stuff, they have just a vent you can cut your hood and install yourself.... much cheaper and still looks good....
