How much should i ask for my car?

I have about a month to sell my car, and oviously i want to get as much as i can for it.
Please no flames or insults, i just need to get some honest opinions of what this car is worth.
The link to the info is in my sig, I am asking 17.5 for it, but that is just a feeler.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys

A brand new RA costs $16k.

I got mine for $15.9otd, and I definitely wouldn't pay $17.5 for a used RA. But who knows, you might find an uninformed sucker to sell it to.

well, my payments are too high now. when i bought the car, i had a great paying job. Then the owner got arrested for trafficing drugs. i was out of a job, now i cant seem to find anything decent that pays more than 10/hour. I spend my days as a bill collector. Talk about a demoralizing job...
And school is starting in the fall, and i really need something like an older civic that gets over 30 mpg.
so basicly, i can afford the car, but then i cant do anything else. Its a nice car and i love it, but its definately not my dream car and therefore shouldnt be taking up all my extra cash.

I found a stolen/recovered 2000 civic si that has about 18k miles on it, its just missing the front bumper, hood, and ecu. Everything else is mint, guy is asking 3k for it. I think i'm going that route. And i f*cking hate civics, but that is just a practical route for my current position in life.

You gotta do what you gotta do, and heck, I respect you for being mature enough to recognize your situation and do what's best for you.

17k is way off. I drive a 2004 and checked the book value of it the other night. They did list the Ralliart in the newest blue book. I found that with all the Ralliart options, it looks like you can only expect 12-13k from it. Thats what the dealer told me as well. I know thats way off what you want for it but its reality. I paid a bit more than 17K for mine and the day I drove it off the lot, it depreciated 5k.

Sorry to say, but you might be better off keeping the car than selling it because of the hugh loss in money. I guess if you really can't afford it, definitally try the whole month to sell it privately, and then if you need to come down to it sell it at a dealer. You'll get nothing for it though.

Youll be lucky to get 10 grand, but thats here in northern va. Putting on aftermarket stuff always decreases the value.

If this helps you any, my car is worth 11,730 trade in. Its a 2004 Automatic with sun and sound and in "good" condition (a scratch in the paint) according to www.kbb.com Im actually suprised it is worth that much. But i also have stuff like aftermarket seats, rims, suspension etc, so that will bring it down a couple grand more.

I think that if someone was looking for a sporty 'tuner' car than you may get more than book value though not even close to the amount you spent in upgrades. You've done most of the work for him/her. The problem is that you have a smaller range of people that would be interested in buying the car and paying a little extra for the upgrades. For those who don't care about your visual and performance upgrades, they wouldn't even consider paying extra.
I know I would be willing to pay more for a car with performance upgrades compared to a stock car because I would be paying far less extra than if I were to take the stock car and try to do the same performance upgrades.

so the word around here is that most of the 2004 RA's are going for about 15,995 from the dealers. So i'm going to run an ad for 15k in the local papers and hope some highschool grad sees it and has his/her rich dad just come pick it up (i live in an area like that...yeah...)

Here's hoping! maybe i can pay off my loan
