Auto-X
Auto-X
So I found a car club that holds autox, rallyx, and rally races here in the city and they are having an autox meet this sunday I'm planning on attending. Does anyone have any tips or advice for a complete noob to this **** keeping in mind I'm 100% stock right now except for a K&N air filter but really, that's still pretty much stock. Anyways I'm told tire pressure of 40 psi is recommended, does this sound right? Other than that I'm not sure what more I can do to prepare, I think just getting out there and getting some practice is the best thing I could do.
I'm really excited to see what this car can do stock so I know what it feels like before doing any mods to it.

Have fun man. As far as tire pressure i know some people that keep it at 36psi front and 30psi back helps correct some of the understeer, and I hear from the people who've done it that it helps. I always keep my front ones at higher psi too. Also my cousin went on auto-cross with his protege5 most of the time you'll be running in 2nd, unless the course has a long straight away. Break before the turn then accel when coming out of it this will help with making tighter turns. Take it somewhat easy on the first run to study the turns and the layout of the course. Have fun let us know how it went. take some pics
1. Walk the course multiple times
2. Drive slow the 1st time to learn the course
3. Drive smooth
4. Slow in fast out
Compete in stock class until you have a good feel for your car and have fun!

Yeah my years of extensive video gaming and my driving experience has taught me slow in fast out on turns and the saying, "sometimes you have to be slow to be fast". Thanks for the tip on tire pressures, I'll have to find something that's comfortable for me.
Thanks again for the good advice.
