Same here... what have you got to loose? Get buffing already... sand the hell out of those lenses and polish them when they're clear again. If you can't get them as clear as you'd like, buy some Flitz and they'll be shiny like new in no time. Plus the whole process shouldn't cost you more than 50$... which is much cheaper than a set of lenses!

So run to Home Depot right now, get some wet sanding paper (or a buffer for the drill or dremel, I think they've got those for wet-sanding as well) and start buffing the crap of them!

Yes it will. Then you use a finer paper to smooth out those scratches, and then an even finer paper after that. Then you use plastic polish and a buffer. I used to wetsand/polish the headlights on my old car every couple years. They'd get yellowed and dull over time and miles, and this process would bring them back.

FWIW, I started with some 600 grit, then 1000, then 1500, 2000, finished with 3000, then polished with plastic polish. I'll see if I can find the pictures I took the last time I did them.

Finally found them. I need a better way of organizing my pictures. The folder these were in has about 2000 pictures.

Anyway, here are the before and after shots from my old car:

I was pretty happy with it. I don't think so. I've always thought the people that do infomercials were not right in the head.

It was Scratch Out, made by Kit. Whatever you use, look for it to say that it works on plastic. This is the stuff:

So, it's not even a plastic-specific scratch remover?
