will dealers put in full synthetic?

 

Mine said $90.00/changed, they won't credit my free changes, they don't recommend it, it won't be better for the car..blah blah blah..

Mine is cool with that... and I can bring my own oil. And since they charge me 50$ for the oil, I might as well buy my own oil next time...

Did you notice anything with the switch? And how often do you do get a change. I'm considering it, the dealer was the only one to suggest not too, and with only 1200miles on the car I thought now would be a good time.

 

I didn't do it on this car yet. On the Integra, I felt that the engine revved quicker... and also noticed that the valves would make less noise when the engine was cold. But these are purely biased impressions of course... the important thing is knowing that your engine is protected much better in the first seconds before the oil has time to reach all the engine components... and that when you rev it near the cutoff most of the time (like I do), you're not putting too much wear on the engine.

Anyway, it's not recommended to go back and forth between conventional and synthetic... so I just have to decide if I want to start paying a bit more to have better oil in the car. With gas prices these days, I'm suddenly not that eager to add to my financial stress... but I might switch at the next oil change anyway. I've been thinking about it since the first oil change.
