BAH! speeding ticket.

I got a ticket today on my way back from Orlando. The State Trooper clocked me at 95 and I didn't even realize it. I was following this BMW X5 and I looked in the rearview to switch and there he is right behind me..I was like WTF!?!...so yea...to end it I have a ticket for 205.50....

Check your speedometers every once in a while...

I had one of those, and I forgot to pay attention to what was around me because of the dumb thing. The state trooper never even hit me with radar, he just tagged along until he could say he has positive what my speed was. I never even knew he was there because I felt invisible with my radar detector. I sold it that same week for a third of what I paid for it I was so pissed.

I will tell anyone who looks at this thread a trick. We have 10.9/10.3 inch rotors for a reason. I was coming home from Asheville, NC this afternoon coming down 26/74 just before 74 splits off towards Shelby. I was doing like 85 or 90 and going around a corner. Since I was driving fast and have gotten a couple of tickets before I was paying attention to everything on the road. I saw a set of blues on the side of the road and nailed the brakes before he could lock me in. I drove by him at like seventy (five over the limit) and the group of cars I just blew by passed him shortly afterward. The last car in that group was doing around 80 when I passed him coming down the mountain like 10 seconds before and he took my ticket I just know he was asking that state trooper why he didn't pull that silver car over.

The moral of the story is that while your radar detector may save you from some speed traps, only you can prevent forest fires. (READ: pay attention and you shouldn't get caught speeding at all, especially with a radar detector)

No the cop didn't pull over the BMW. Just me. I think it's because I have the lightning yellow RA ahaha. That attracts some attention.

My old 93 Saturn did have a few advantages over my Ralliart. Invisibility to cops was one of them. I think they almost never looked twice at it, and if they ever did they were probably just like "damn radar gun's busted again, it keeps saying a Saturn is doing X and there's no way that possible"

^ lol my friend had a 93 saturn. Did yours have a button that said "Performance" and "normal" next to the shifter? We never did figure out what that little button did. I mean either way it did 0 - 60 in..... yah it would probably do 0 - 60 either way. lol

I have been lucky, I got tagged for doing 65 in a 40, let off with a warning, I have had the same deal as Blkralliart04 though, I got a 63 in a 60 and the SOB gave me a ticket. I took it to court, the trooper actually showed up and the judge chewed him out for wasting everybodys time.. The dumbest ticket I ever got was driving to far in an exit lane. Took that one to court also, copper never showed.

Yeah i took my 38 in a 35 to court, the judge asked the officer if I was drunk. The cop said no and before the cop could finish his sentence the judge told me I was excused, no court fees or anything. Gotta love fairfax county cops.

exactly check them speedometers once in a while would work. Now I just get to the speed limit maybe a little over and set that damn cruise control. Especially after getting a ticket for 95 in 65-70 zone. now there goes $357.00 that coulda gone toward some awesome RRM product!
