new RA owner... hopefully
hey, I've been reading this forum for quite a since the thought of a RA first entered my mind I just want to thank everybody for all the information i have found most of it usefull or at least funny.
anywho, i've got the money to pick one up now one of the benifits to being in afganistan (making lots with nowhere to spend it) ill be home on leave soon and will be talking to the dealer hopefully i can get a white 05 RA laoded how i want cause i may have to look for another car if all he can get me is an 06 SO UGLY.
on to my point here is my current plans for the car comments, questions, concerns, thoughts on how she will drive once its all done are what im really looking for
LS Authority short shifter with all the bushings (underhood and shifter)
RDD Rearstrut tower brace and Lower tie bar
Works air filter
RRM rear anti sway bar + perches
Rims (thinking Volk or Gram Lights, 16x7 probably)
eyelids (maby)
thats my current list should keep me busy for a few weeks putting everything in, on the Rims though i know forged are of course much better then cast but will i be able to make due with the cast wheels or will i have to dodge every pot hole and uneven road surface.

Welcome home when you're there
You've got a good list, only thing I have to add is to go with a full intake instead of just the filter. Might as well if you're going to be spending that kind of money.

Welcome, man! Sounds like you've done a lot of research, nothin' I can tell you that'll really help you. Make sure you don't get cheaped when you make the purchase and from there, it just keeps getting better. Very good choices on the shifter components and sways + perches. Gonna be nice when you're back permanently, whenever that may be.
And hey, I can't thank you enough for what you're doing. You deserve way more than you get, whatever it may be. *salute*

EDIT before someone points out the fact that if that part isn't responsible for the damage then warrenty will still cover it, I'm in Canada and am unaware if that rule stands here as well, one would assume it does but we all know why u shouldn't assume apperantly esspecially where
is involed
/EDIT

I have the works high flow filter. It really doesn't add anything. Makes my Magnaflow sound a little better though. CAI's won't hurt your warranty unless they prove having it caused whatever problem you have it in for. At least that is my understanding. I had the same concerns as you that's why I bought the Works filter. But for no real gains, stay stock filter or do sri or cai. Seriously though, a good aftermarket muffler is needed. Magnaflow, nice deep tone, fills out the cutout in the bumper nicely. Car just sounds so much better. $100 bucks on ebay.
I actually wasn't really expecting any gains from the works filter but it is a reusable and higher quality filter then the crap ones that come stock in most cars so really its more of preventative maintenence mod and a money saving one? (not sure what the stock air filters cost)
But i will definatly have a long talk with the manger of the dealership when im home to find out what i can and cannot do and what ill be able to just get by with simply i would love to add horse power to the RA. I'm thinking conservativly for now in regards to that but ill see where i go with it and let my right foot do the leading
