Is this happening to anyone else?

Ok so... My Service Engine Soon light keeps coming on every night. I thought it was because of my CAI like it used to do on really hot days back over the summer. After process of elimination I figured out the problem but i have no idea why it is doing this.
-Situation-
If I turn on my headlights before I turn on my car the SES light will come on and stay on until the next day. Also if I turn on my brights my SES light comes on. If I start up the car without the head lights on it does not give me the SES light. Has this happened to anybody else? Will somebody else go out and try this out? I have no idea what would be causing this... Any feedback would be great. This may be a problem for the dealer to look at?

I had the same thought... voltage regulator or battery. I'd get it tested sooner than later... or you'll end up stranded in the near future.

yea a dying battery is the worse possible thing to wait on. Get that checked out fast, if you don't have custom audio and any additional electrical in the car it shouldn't be doing that at all...

...and if you have additionnal equipment, especially audio, check that the remote wires are doing their jobs. Maybe an amp is staying on all the time instead of being turned off by the HU. Even if it's not pumping out sound, it's will eventually drain your battery anyway...

Go get your code pulled at your local auto parts chain, then you'll know for sure what the problem is.

otter has it. Autozone will do this for free and then you won't spend a day diagnosing the CEL because you will know what is causing it.

yah my car has like 2800 miles on it... its about half a year old... and i dont have any custom audio set up. I have noticed my lights being slightly dim a few times until i started driving. I hope my battery isnt going. I'll take it to Autozone later today if it comes on.

It doesn't need to be on. It will/should be stored in the ECU until cleared. At least I think that is the case.

Yeah, I think there's a buffer that stores the last code...

Dont waste anymore time... when you get the code read, it will tell you exactly where to look.
