Question Grounding Kits for Ralliart

I don't really want to spend a whole lot of money on grounding kits. But I've noticed there was a diagram in the EVO forum on where the ground wires suppose to be.

I would like to make my own but I'm not sure where to connect the grounds. I already made my own little 8 gauge grounding from the negative part of the battery to the driver chassis, which is about 6 inches away from the battery.

So if anyone knows where to install the grounds, much appreciated. Thanks.

do a search... there have been tons of topics about positions and lenghts.. they should be somewhat similar on the ralliart as the regular lancer/evo

Just a quick question...what difference would the grounding kit make on the RA? I've already noticed that the idle is somewhat erratic.....does it help that?

There are alot of information on this forum about that. I should have done that before posting this up. I made my own groundings using diagrams posted by other members here.

There are 6 piece of 8 gauge wires. Lengths = 36.5", 27.5", 18.5", 10", and 8". I bought some gold plated terminal rings from autozone.

I noticed when going 70mph, my rpm is at 3000-3200 instead of 3400-3500. The stock stereo sounds like it's been amplified. Idle is good. Smoother excelerations.

Again, my car is still stock. This is the only mod I've added.

The rpm difference sounds a bit fishy; but I'm still interested in redoing the grounds on my car. The couple of questions I have are...

1. Where do the different lengths of wire connect; I'm sure I could search the car, but it would be nice if I didn't have to. If you have the time please post detailed instructions.

2. Would replacing the wires affect the warrenty in any way, I know that they can be sticklers on some issues.

Thanks

first off, look above.. he has the lengths in there in inches... secondly you are tampering with the electrical system.. so if anything you will lose the warranty on the electrical system if you dont remove and replace with stock before going in for warranty work... or you could call your local dealership and see if they will accept it before you install it...

Are they're any ground kits out for it now??

Jeddi - You said it smoothed out the idle right? And you said your stereo sounded stronger (amplified)? Intresting.

I know there's a JDM kit out... and Vivid Racing has two kits for the Evo that should fit our cars also.

Mitsubishi DOES offer a grounding kit for the Ralliart. If you buy it from them then you wont have to worry about your warranty. It will be more expensive than doing it yourself but it might be worth looking into.

So anyone else install one?

I know the HKS and Apex'i ones are universal (the apex'i one is actually supposed to ADD hp in some case's).

I am going to make one for my car and install it, maybe this weekend. I printed out the instructions that where posted in EVO section. I can make kits for people with instructions if there is enough interest.

If interested, PM me.
