dome light question

I am wondering if anyone has figured out a way to add a second dome light for the back seat area or possibly use the existing one and add a second bulb or something. I have to get a flash light to find anything in my backseat at night.

You could try tapping a wire into the existing dome light, and run the wire back for an LED light. Not much extra draw, not really bright, but plenty of light to see. Just get an LED made for 12v and you're golden.

If you choose to use some LEDs, don't forget to add a resistor to the circuit...I think I remember you need about 1K (and I'm too lazy to do the calculations too)...

Of course, nowadays they sell some (strangely named) 12v LED bulbs with an integrated resistor so that you can just plug in into any 12v circuit and be done with it.

Doesn't the EVO get a back light? They probably see our car as being unworthy of such a quality/performance option...

does the evo have a back light? If so it would probably be an easy install into our car.

Only the cool people without sunroofs get the good dome light.

I have the dome light, but it's nothing to brag about. Thinking of replacing the bulb or something. I don't have the reading lights for the front though.

Lack of the map lights does suck. I like the LED idea mentioned earlier. Plant a couple at the top of the A-pillar, or find a way to custom fit some of those cheap projector foglights you find at the auto parts store.

i dont see how the sunroof is the reason for us not have a light for the back seat. Mitsu could have modified the existinig dome to shine both directions, or added small ones in the rear.

If lack of lighting in the rear seat is the worst thing you've got to b*tch about, you should be happy.

I even set my dome light so it doesn't come on when I open the door.
